We Are Married!

The most fantstsic weekend ever, concluded over a year's organisation and planning at it sure paid off! We had 98 Visitors from all over the world crammmed into a weekend of celebrating eating and drinking in a beautiful Masia perched on a hill overlooking vinyards and olive groves in the beautiful state of Tarragona south of Barcelona. The ceremony took place on Friday evening at 6pm after an afternoon of running around with lastminute planning and preparations, and getting ready. It was out doors in a small area with palm trees, a red carpet and some chairs on either side. I made my entrance down the steps from the small bridal hut, to the sound of "Stir It Up" by Bob Marley and we had readings and poems and a song from Stephanie in Irish to Dad playing the Uilleann Pipes, and finally when we were declared husband and wife after me accepting with a "Claro Que Si" we walked down the aisle together to the sound of Barry Louis Polar's "All I Want Is You", that most adorable song featured in the movie Juno.

There were photos, aperitivo with Cava from our favourite place in the Barceloneta (Can Pexano) with ornate canapées from Cal Blai and live music from my friends the Jazz Manouch trio Acoustic Guiri. The sit down dinner was a huge success with beautiful decoration from Mum and the girls, a floral centre-peice at each table made up of Sunflowers, Gypsofelia and Eucaluptus and everyone got a small pouch with Sunflower seeds to take home. Maria did a lovely Sevillana/Flamenco dance and then Rodri and I went from table to table serving Ratafia liquer and cigars. The best surprise was leading everyone to the Caves where we had the dancing and we made our big entrance and danced our first dance to "Hooked On A Feeling" by Blue Swede made famous in  Quentint Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs and we had a fun night of dancing and laughing until the small hours. Dad was a huge hit with all our friends.

The following day, a marathon barbecue took place with live music from friends and family by the pool. This continued until well after the sun had gone down and more friends from Barcelona joined us for the day
