Back in BCN

I am back in Barcelona after a stint in Dublin, and it is impossibly Scorchio! The current reading on the pharmacy thermometer at the end of the roads announces in flashing red that it is 35 degrees celcius! More importantly, it is humid beyond belief rendering me slower and dozier than I usually am, if that it at all possible! I had a nice visit from Blat, a native of Girona who was a house mate of Elodies in Dublin. It was great to see him and he had lots of news as he was only recently back from South America. This only made me even more determined to go there, hopefully soon. Other than that its back to the guiding for me. I will have visits from Delph and Charlotte mid August as well as my cousin Chloé and her boyfriend and there will be plenty of fiestas during the month so there is a lot to look forward to. Also, I met a guy in a nightclun at 4am while dancing. He's very cute and I feel a strong connection that I am excited to explore

Wow! Talk about a lot to take in. I arrived in Barcelona yesterday morning at 11pm and it was already scorching like 23 deg celcius or something. It is still a bit nippy in the evenings but what a contrast with Ireland. Eimear, my friend and her boyfriend Kevin met me at arrivals by car and gave me a quick tour of their lovely apartment. We went to Platja Icaria which is the one further down from Barceloneta and the one that is much cleaner, though you don't go swimming anywhere on these beaches cos they are full of crap. You just go there to chill on the beach and tan. I took it easy and we met some of Eimer and Kevins friends, a Norweigan couple and a dutch guy and took it easy, which was nice for m...

Brighton Rocks (pun intended) and so do Jellied Eels

Well I am just back from a fabulous few days in London visiting my younger sister Stephanie. We even went on a day trip down to Brighton despite adverse weather conditions, in true O'Keeffe family style. I caught up with some friends in London did some shopping and took in a cool Andrew Loyd Webber musical "The Woman In White". Our day trip to Brighton was wonderful. We walked through the famous Laines with its quirky shops and down to the seafront on to the pier where we ate 99ers and went on the only available fairground there, a very bockety old fashiond ghost ride with cheap fluo decors but worthy of a few screams, much to the amusment of onlookers. Poor Steph didn't even get to finish her Ice-Cream,for as we reached the edge of the pier a giant white Sea-gull with a wingspan of about a metre, presumably a disgruntled extra from Hitchcock's The Birds, swooped down onto her head, grabbed the head of her ice-cream with his right claw, and fluttered on his merry ...
